RE: INITIAL and NEXT extent sizing question

That's an urban myth.

The only performance drawback to a large number ( >1024 ) of extents is data dictionary management. With LMT's ( locally managed tablespaces) there is little point in worrying over the number of extents.

DBA's have more important things to do. :)
