Dear Mr. Erma,

               Try out the Oracle JDeveloper Handbook by Oracle Press. It
is quite a good book. Moreover in the JDeveloper CD itself there is a book
by name "Thinking in Java" by Bruce Eckel which is in pdf format. Refer to
that also. Hope this helps.
