Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: RMAN Vs Hotbackup scripts
Hot backup scripts. Working on RMAN, but we're running 8.0.5 and 8.1.6 - a
little tricky. Also I'm not comfortable with the restores yet. Since data
availability is my #1 concern, I'll continue hot backup scripts for some
time to come. Once upon a time Ferenc Mantfeld guided me through a block
level recovery using scripted backups. I'll never be able to repay him for
the advice, but it gave me absolute confidence in my ability to restore
given a very "plain-jane" set of tools to work with.
