No sure of your problem in particular but I can verify that you can install
the Oracle8i NT cd successfully
on 2000. One thing you may consider is to not run the configuration
assistant during the install but
wait until after. The two of them together takes a crap load of memory.
Did you actually choose a character
set during the creation or did you go with the default?

Hi,
I am trying to install Oracle8i(NT CD) on win 2000 machine.I have selected database creation option while installing ,so it tries to start DB configuration Assistant and during this time status shows it is in progress and error comes saying JNLS national charater set not found null pointer exception.
Can anybody help on this matter.
