Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: Enterprise manager.
Hi.
I hate to tell you this, but it isn't reading it from my listner.ora =
file,
it also doesn't read it from my oem/net80/admin's listner.ora file =
either as
I have copied it into both directories.
The tricky bit here is that I am still connecting via sqlplus via to =
my
database.
I downloaded the latest version of OEM, its 2.1 and that now doesn't =
have a
net80/admin directory, so it couldn't of been in there.
On the latest version, it has a sqlplus component (don't ask me why?), =
and I
cannot connect with OEM's sqlplus, but yet from my database directories =
I
can...
Weird!!!
I think it has something to do with the intelligent agent on my 2000 =
client
machine, which I cannot get started.
On the LSNRCTL command line I type in dbsnmp_status, and it returns =
that the
subagent is not running, I try to start it with dbsnmp_start and it =
doesn't
start, but it also doesn't give me any errors.
Any suggestions?
Clint

Hi all.
I am battling with OEM, I am currently running the console on version =
2.0.4
on a Windows 2000 pro box.
The Oracle db is version 8.1.5 on a Solaris SunOS 5.8. The repository =
is
also on the Sun box.
I can connect 100% through sqlplus as well as onto the database from =
the
console.
I have even run a successful export from the console. However when =
trying to
run a point product (Tablespace Manager etc) it gives me the error ORA
-12154 : TNS could not resolve service name.=20
My question is where does OEM read its TNS names from?=20 Its impossible to get this to work without know this.
Thanks
Clint
