Java for DBA

Dear list !

I'm a DBA and i want to start learning some Java ( well , can't escape = it ) .
I have NO clue in Java , C++ , C , VB etc ... , although i do have = pretty strong background in Perl ( including it's OO features ) , Tcl/Tk = , Unix shell scripting and PL/SQL .

For those of U who have made the same path , please advice Where to = start ?
