For example, my guide for 8.1.6/WinNT says (appendix B) that with 16K blocks max file size is 64GB. The other side of the story is that many OSes and many Oracle releases are supposed to have various documented and undocumented problems with sizes>2GB. That's why most of the experts I have talked with prefer to play safe and not to make any file larger than 2GB. The same apllies to the autoextend feature - the paranoic DBAs don't use it.
