I saw on Metalink that 8.0.5 for HPUX 64 bit is being desupported
as of December 31, 2000 and that 8.0.5 HPUX 32 bit has already
been desupported.
There was also conflicting information on whether or not 8.0.6 has been released. Has anyone installed 8.0.6 and had any problems with it?

Hi Gerardo,
No gotchas that I know of.
In terms of patches, I don't believe there are any that are required (although I might be wrong), but I would suggest getting the latest version of the Solaris 7 KU (kernel update) Sun patch which is number 106541. I believe the latest version is -12. It also looks like the libthread patch 106980 (latest version -11) could be a good idea. You (or your SA) can check out the full recommended patch list for Solaris 7 at sunsolve.sun.com.
Also check the Oracle 8i/Solaris 7 release notes to see if there is anything more recommended there.
