The t:node:SID method of connecting via SQL*Net died several years ago with SQL*Net V1. It is a shame that Oracle hasn't taken that out of the developer 2000 install yet. OK, What you need to do is start a listener for your local instance (yeah, that's a little lame. but necessary).
