oracle does not returns any error when trying to insert a value
larger than 4000 in a varchar2 column.!
why ?
SQL> create table test (col1 varchar2(4000));
Table created.
SQL> insert into test values(rpad('rahul',4001,'x'));
1 row created.
SQL> select vsize(col1) from test;
VSIZE(col1)
