Hi,
I don't know anything about the Oracle Application Software related actions
for such upgrades. And this is not an expert guidance, just the steps that
we took to migrate some of our databases from 7.3.x to 8.1.6 (HP-UX 10.20 to
HP-UX 11.0)...
The way we did this with our homegrown applications, was to install Oracle
7.3.4.1 (for HP-UX 11) and 8.1.6 on the new server. Then cold copied
existing 7.3.4.x database from other HP-UX 10.20 server. Brought it up as a
7.3.4.1 database (ran all the required cat* scripts). Another cold backup.
Finally, followed Migration Utility steps to migrate it to 8.1.6. Yet
another cold backup.. Startup and done...
HTH..
