What errors are you getting, and what version of 8 is it you are trying to install? I know that the Oracle installer with 8.0.4 that I have is not Y2K friendly, and that putting my system clock back <2000 solves the problems short term.

To remove the software, the quick and dirty way that I use, first off shut down the database and stop the services, remove the services with oradim80, delete the directory structure, and delete the registry entries. If anybody knows a fuller, cleaner, better, whatever way of doing this.. I'd love to have a copy.

Im trying to install client o8 software on a PC but need to remove the old o734 but I cant seem to find an un-install program. Using the CDROM to do it aborts with a windows error and there is no entry in the control panels list. Do I just remove the directory structure and remove the registry entry for oracle?
