Team,
Is there a document available that describes the optimal db_block_size = for the different platforms that Oracle will run on? I know that it should = be a multiple of the os block size, but what multiple? And are there = limits to the multiple? Does the answer come from trial and error or from = a hard and fast case study.
I am planning to upgrade from 7.3.4 to 8.0.x on Novell and eventually = 8.1.x after we upgrade to Novell 5.x and I would like to optimize the = Oracle db_block_size on the new os. Currently I matched the block size to = the os and it works okay but it could work better. The database is 42 GIG = on a Dell 6300 server with RAID 5 for the disk array. TIA
