Well Donald, I can't be really specific. I tried the same thing, MSSql
Server 7.0 and Oracle 7.3.4 on a NT, svc pk 5. I didn't do anything in Sql
Server, just had it up and "mounted" so to speak. Did everything in
Oracle. Went ok for a few weeks, then I started blue screening. OUCH!
Problem is, when looking at the event.log to figure out why....no real
explaination. Ambigous explanation about some dll. When it was brought up
to management, there decision was to "not support the configuration", so
the Sql Server was put on it's own box.
Problem is don't really know what happened and I don't really have the time to reproduce it to figure it out.
Cheers!

Hello,
Management in an effort to save a few bucks would like to consolidate on
the
number database and application servers. We currently license both mssql
6.5 & 7.0 and Oracle 7.3.4 & 8.1.X floating around. We would be looking to
consolidating mssql 7.0 and Oracle 7.3.4 on a high-end development box for
10 or so developers. Disk space, memory, or processing power isn't an
issue. Can anyone provide me with any gotchas in this configuration?
thanks,
Donnie Shaw
