I expect to be upgrading an Oracle 7.2.2/Forms 3.0/SQR 3.07 database to Oracle 8x/Forms 6.0/haven't decided about reports in the near future. We are currently on a SPARC10 and we're leaning towards a three tier configuration of data on the SPARC10 and forms on an NT server.
As a DBA, I can add users confidently, but I'm all they have. I need to learn how to do the job of setting it all up properly after I have selected the proper hardware and software. I've been saving any messages on this list that I thought would help. And followed many links to a lot of useful info.
Now I need a few good books that will tie everything together for me. I feel that Rachel's beginning DBA book will be of great use, but what other books do I need to add to my book shelf? Will you all please recommend your most thumbed manuals?
Thanks,
Allison
