Yes, San Francisco. I realized I should have made that clearer instead of just typing SF. Sorry about that....

If you are interested, please send a resume! H1B is ok, relo, benefits, etc. Great boss, too.

Best regards,

Linda Hagedorn

My company is looking to fill additional DBA positions - full time, perm. If anyone is interested, please feel free to drop me a note or cut/paste a resume to me.

Job description:

Sr. Oracle DBA Posted: 08/01/00
This DBA will work within a team to ensure the reliability and performance of our Oracle databases. He or she must be able to install and manage multiple Oracle instances with little or no supervision. Responsibilities will include insuring that all objects, including control files, are backed up and recoverable. We are looking for a self-starter who enjoys working in a highly motivated start up environment and has a willingness to carry a pager and assume 24x7responsibilities.

The successful candidate must be familiar with dba tables, V$ statistics, and performance and monitoring tools, both native and third party. Must be able to analyze SQL, run EXPLAIN PLAN, interpret PLAN_TABLE output, and make recommendations for programming. Should understand analyze, the optimizer, data skew, and cardinality. Should understand and be able to apply rules of normalization, and make design recommendations to prevent future performance problems. Must be able to execute DBMS utilities, export/import, hot and cold backups. Must understand undo and redo logs, and recoverability. Should be able to trace and interpret (tkprof) trace and dump output. Ability to alter schema and update and rebuild control files, as well as familiarity with Oracle support structure and database, a must.

Very good salary, 401K, stock options, bonus package.

Primary contacts only; no brokers please.
