Use the template given in Oracle back up and recovery - Rama
Velpuri and then formulate your own script for backup.
Using the scripts given by others will not be very useful as
your own requirements, backup strategy and setup will vary.
Take into consideration the storage requirements (What type of
storage devices you are using), the window in which the
back up is to be taken and other things (what type of
compression), since these are heavily dependant on the
bussiness
which the organisation is doing.
Our organisation use a backup tool called SQL backtrack which
has served us quite well.
