i would do a offline immediate and then tryy dropping it!

It may be a temporary tablespace. Check the table dba_temp_files; see the SQL language documentation for how to handle this type of tablespace.

I tried to install webb on Oracle 8.1.6 database (solaris 2.7). I chose a tablespace from the list of tablespaces during the installation. I chose a tablespace - but now I notice there is no datafile associoated with it.

I am trying to get rid of the tablespace. dba_tablespaces shows the existence of the tablespace. dba_data_files does not show the tablespace or the datafile associated with it.

I tried to drop the tablespace or even take it offline.

I get ORA 600 with arguments [2897] [11] [2048] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] .

How can I get rid of this tablespace.

I have contacted Oracle support too.
