i haven't tried between 816 and 815 . but i tried 7.x and 815 and hope this info helps.

This is the compiled form of export/import of different versions.

v7 export and 8i import Yes
8i export and v7 import No

v7 export on 8i objects Yes
8i export on v7 objects No

using v7 import on 8i database is not working

Dear List,

Iam taking the 816 export file and importing into 815 database and getting the following errors:

IMP-00010: not a valid export file, header failed verification IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully.

Iam on HP-UX 11.0
I would appreciate if someone help me in resolving the problem.
