At my previous place of employment there was (and still is) a developer =
who
took the OCP DBA tests and passed'em. So, now he's an OCP DBA with
absolutely no real-world experience. He doesn't know how to start up a
database but he has the shingle.
But, the OCP makes him more marketable, and when he starts looking for another job he'll be a step ahead of non-OCP's.
OCP sure doesn't make you a better DBA, but it helps get your foot in =
the
door.

In fact, in busy days I liked those posts as I just deleted whithout reading them.
For the story, I had to hired a dba to replace me at a client, I've seen 5 OCP DBA , none of them knew how to used tkprof or what was the difference between an hash join and a nested loop.
