Sean,
There is a small overhead with both DB_BLOCK_CHECKSUM
and LOG_BLOCK_CHECKSUM as Oracle has to compute and
store the checksum of the block in the block every
time it is written to disk. When the block is read
its checksum is computed again and compared to the
value stored in the block.
