Chris:
Smart Client is indeed a 16 bit app. And the installer that comes with it
has Y2k bugs, which
fails to install. I recently installed it on some Windows 95 clients and
had to download the
16 bit version of orainst from metalink as a patch. ( Select Platform =
Windows, Product = Oracle Universal Installer )
Whether this will work on Windows 2000, I cannot say.
ID:23261 Patch Set:: 31420
Product:Oracle Universal Installer Last updated:27-OCT-99
Platform:MS Windows Patch version:3.1.4.2.0
Info:Oracle Installer for MS-WINDOWS 16bit Size:3531271
