Online redolog corrupt

Hi all,
  I am asking this ques. only for my info. Suppose my online redolog corrupt then ,what will be the message given by database and what action should be taken at this condition.

My Oracle version is oracle 8i..
Database is running in archivelog mode..... I doesn't have any mirror of redolog files.......
