Re: rman problem

The error that he get (segmentation fault) seems to point to something more than a pure grant of sysdba (btw, rman does not need to be sysdba of the database!).

I got that error several time, and last time I have to reboot the server in order to clean it up.

YOu don't have to grant sysdba to rman. You do have to run the catrman script ($ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/catrman.sql) from svrmgrl in the recovery catalog database. Have you done this?
