Hi,

   By running the following command both services oraclestart%SID% and oracleservice%SID% gets deleted.

oradim80 -delete -sid %SID% -srvc OracleStart%SID%

   So if don't want oraclestart%SID% service first you delete that service then recreate the services using " startmode= manual " option.

I believe you have to reboot the server after you have deleted a service. It's been a while since
I've done this, but I think that might be your problem.
