Hi,
we have installed 8.1.5, 7.3.4 (not me) and 8.1.6 (in this order) under
HP-UX 11. The copy of database running 7.3.4 on another host has been copied
here, too.
I would like to start 7.3.4 for this database (while Oacle8 is inactive).
The problem is i'm getting heap of cores and "ORA-12547: TNS:lost contact"
every time i'm trying svrmgrl or sqlplus. Before trying i save oraenv and
coraenv and replace them in /usr/local/bin
with ones of same name from 7.3.4. $ORACLE_HOME/bin and change those group
to "sys".
If it might help, there's the PATH, too:
/apps/oracle/product/7.3.4/bin:.:/usr/bin:/usr/ccs/bin:/usr/contrib/bin:/opt
/nettladm/bin:/opt/fc/bin:/opt/fcms/bin:/opt/upgrade/bin:/opt/pd/bin:/usr/bi
n/X11:/usr/contrib/bin/X11:/opt/java/bin:/opt/hparray/bin:/opt/resmon/bin:/o
pt/pred/bin:/usr/local/bin
I believe it is possible have several different version Oracles on the same host, isn't it? Maybe some guru might tell me where i'm wrong.
TIA,
Uldis
