Better yet, draw up a LEGAL memo absolving you of all responsibility once
the tool install starts, and making the tool vendor financially liable for
lost production time/$$$. Have your manager, yourself, and the vendor rep
sign it in triplicate AND FOR PITY'S SAKE KEEP ONE ORIGINAL COPY OFF SITE.
Have company legal rep on-site to verify the legality of the contract.
This should make the vendor think twice if they will be financially liable for any screw-ups...
If this doesn't fly with your damagement, then take a few more weeks off and move a little sooner! <grin>
