We have 4500 "panic" several times including this morning and last Friday.
Do you think the problem was caused by the maximum physical I/O size
parameter. We have 8192M real memory. Is the following maxphys in
/etc/system too big?
* FCAW
set maxphys = 8388608
Thanks.

Subject: RE: Sun Memory Upgrade problem
There could be a problem in the memory itself. The database is on raw devices and here is /etc/system:
*EMC settings
set sd:sd_max_throttle=20
set scsi_options=0x7F8
set sd:sd_io_time=0x78
set red_minavail=7000
* ESS_Standard_End (do not remove)

Did you re-tune the OS? Anything done with SWAP, parameters? are you sure
that
the installed RAM itself isn't slow? Can you post your /etc/system?

Hi,
After we upgraded memory on Sun 4500 to 10Gb Oracle performance became very
bad.
It is almost 50% slower.
Any ideas?
Also when the sessions parameter becomes high like 4000, setting autotrace
on in sqlplus becomes very very slow.
For example select * from dual takes like two minutes.
Thanks,
Waleed
