Sorry for the pun...
Anyway, under Oracle 8.0.X, there seemed to be good reasons for using the
REpository with RMAN but now under 8i a lot is tracked in the control file.
(See the "Consequences of Using the Control file for RMAN Metadata" section
of the "Backup and Recovery Guide.") So now, after revisiting the docs I'm
wondering if there really is as compelling a reason to use the repository
as
there was before.
Any thoughts?
