Just the comment that we're in the same boat (8.1.5 on Digital 4.0d) and
think it a good idea to upgrade. We no longer have a lot of core dumps,
since OWS helped me track down what was wrong, but I think it highly
advisable to move to 8.1.6. There are numerous little annoyances with 8.1.5.
A recent example was creating global temporary tables from a stored
procedure. This works fine in 8.1.6 and fails consistently on 8.1.5.
We've already checked one of our instances for corruption that can zap us on
upgrade (see Metalink Note:96117.1).

Subject: Upgrade to 8.1.6
Hi,
I'm thinking of upgrading from 8.1.5 to 8.1.6 on Digital Unix ver 4.0d
as suggested by Oracle support because of recurring ORA-7445 errors.
Any stories or suggestions?
