Yup. I did it several times to be absolutely sure that the relink was not the
problem.
Everything is OK now. Turns out it was a network glitch on the new host. Like I said to the sysadmin, Look at my command. It is TWO LINES LONG and creates an entire screen full of errors. You tell me what's wrong? His reponse: Oracle. Then they found the network glitch. If they weren't a bunch of nice guys I'd be mad. I'm just glad I have backups, can do my migration today, get it over with and play golf tomorrow.
Now if I could play golf as well as I handle databases, life would be very different...

There are also some libs to install ( and certainly rebuild the oracle kernel ) in order to use Netbackup with RMAN. Has this been done ?
