It's very subjective... compared to Rachel most of us are juniors :-)
Oh, Hi Rachel... On a similar note, I hate it when my "junior" recalls exact syntax while I'm still looking it up in the manual. :-( Oh, but being a senior means you're looking it up just to make sure nothing's changed between versions. Being the senior means you probably remember the syntax but you take extra precautions based on your vast experience. Being the senior means you understand the mechanics of the Oracle engine and don't have time to be bothered with small things like remembering exact syntax. Being the senior means you're preoccupied with larger issues like the business needs, the architecture, Oracle futures, EOUG, etc. Yeah, that's the ticket. Being the senior has nothing to do with Alzheimer's.

Good idea. My guess is that generally "junior" means "getting started", and "senior" means "has more knowledge and experience". "junior" also implies "needs supervision", and "senior" implies "works independently to resolve issues most/all of the time".
However, Rachel's main point appears to be that there are a lot of people "adjusting the factual information" (lying) on their resumes and *claiming* to be junior dbas when they submit dba jobs applications who don't actually meet the educational and functional requirements of *being* a junior dba.
regards,
ep
