Segment_type = TEMPORARY -- CONCLUSION

Conlusion:

A programmer tried to create an index in an index tablespace. The creation
failed and he saw these segments with segment_type = TEMPORARY. These segments were there until the SMON eliminated them.

When Oracle is creating a index, the segment_type is TEMPORARY, and when the creation is complete, the segment_type switches to INDEX.
