Upper limits for intermedia

For a new project I plan to do the following:

storage of about 11.000.000 documents (about 50 GB)
the documents will be stored in 11 tables (each with about 1.000.000 document)
intermedia fulltext index on each table

Can Oracle 8i handle this ? Especially is Intermedia capable of handling this amount of data ? Any experience ?
