listener.ora and tnsnames.ora

oracle_at_oracle: sqlplus vprasad/vprasad_at_taj

SQL*Plus: Release 8.1.6.0.0 - Production on Tue May 30 12:17:00 2000

ERROR:
ORA-12505: TNS:listener could not resolve SID given in connect descriptor

CAN anybody tell me why am I getting this ? I did check listener.ora and

tnsnames.ora files everything look good to me , but still I get the above error.
