have you added the service name for the test-database to the listener.ora?
Check with "lsnrctl80 status"

Subject: Database Cloning
Hi
I have just cloned our production DB to a test machine (ie copy all datafiles, init files, netwrok files etc) after doing recovery on the DB I can connect through server manager and see all the data..
However I can't connect via sqlplus (from a pc) using sqlnet.. it keeps telling me that Oracle is not available.. when the database is started and the tnslistener is also started.
TIA
Saj Iqbal
