Just to support 8i doesn't require much Java knowledge. In order to help out the Java programmers, you should get familiar with JDBC APIs.

Dear list,

I would like to know howmuch java knowledge is required for a DBA to support Oracle8i and also to help the Java programmers. We have just upgraded some databases to oracle 8.1.5 and planning to upgrade all the remaining databases in the near future.
