Hi List members,

I would like to share the following with you.

I installed Oracle 8.0.6 on Sun Solaris 2.7. A third party application required the following libraries.

  1. liboiocsm.so.1.3
  2. liboi.so.4.0.3.0.0

The above two libraries were not in $ORACLE_HOME/lib. We needed to make this application up within a day. I raised a tar at about 6.PM (USA EST) and the next day called up Oracle Hot line at about 10 AM (EST). The oracle tech guy informed me the following.

"The above libraries can be installed by installing Oracle Intelligent Agents"

I did the custom installation of intelligent agents and got the libraries.

During the above experience, Oracle support was excellent and initially when I was talking on the hotline, the tech guy could not tell me how to get the libraries (after 15 minutes on the line). He said he will get back. Within one hour he called back and gave the feed back. (we have silver support).

Incidentally, could anybody tell me what is the purpose of those two libraries?
