1- Nobody asked you to keep your mouth shut! 2- When I mentioned the experts on the list I did not mean you of course! 3- This list used to be more professional before but having people like youin it!
Hopefully you feel better now!

Oh NO ... please don't leave us ... how will the list survive, will Rachel
ever truly understand the concepts of backup and recovery without you, will
Steve ever get to the bottom of Oracle internals with out your input and
will Jared ever get to sleep knowing that the list has lost someone ...
PROBABLY !!!
If you wanna go just go , don't sit around and post these guarded threats to
leave us if we don't do what you want.
You can ignore stuff, delete stuff or join in but cutting your nose off
'cause your face is having a bad day is just daft.
Threads will die when everyone has had enough of them not just you.

I am not the one who posted this thread and when I posted my message that the position was filled I meant that it is time to close this thread.
For the first time I am thinking to unsubscribe from this list but the only thing that is keeping me from doing this is the existence of serious and highly experienced people in this group that I like to hear and interact with them.
Regards everybody,
Waleed

Sorry. I couldn't let this one pass.
I am not a headhunter. I am a DBA working for GWL and we do have a position
open
for an Oracle DBA (and yes, headhunters can be a pain, but they can also be
helpful if handled correctly).
I ignored the posting from Waleed which said the position was filled (even
though it hadn't been) since it was time to let this one die (which it
hasn't).
This "Subject" had spawned some other discussions (some interesting) of the
duties of a DBA before it degenerated to its current level.
I do, however, agree that it is time to let this particular subject die and
go
on with other more important things.
Thanks for the useful (and humorous) information.
