Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: install question
Yes. I had the same problem while I recently installed 8.0.6 on Solaris.
Finally, I added my ID into /etc/group and it solved the problem.

Subject: install question
I am trying to install 8.0.4 on Solaris 2.6
The install does not recognize that the dba group exists. I know I am in
the
dba group -
id shows me that I am. However this info is coming from nis and not from
/etc/group. Does the installer need to see the entry in /etc/group in order
to
work properly?
TIA for any input.
