Jack,
That is the method that I would use. You could further restrict what they can
see in those tables by using views and giving them access to the views. Also
when you create the users dont forget to change the default and temporary
tablespaces to something other than the Oracle default of SYSTEM.

Hi All,
I was asked to create a few user accounts that only have select rights on a few tables.
What I plan to to is create a role that has select rights on those tables. grant this role including create session to these users and create public synonyms for these tables.
Is this the correct procedure or are there other/better methods.??
