I can definitely say that that Oracle 8.04 still does the rounding (most of the time, not always).
We're using 140K, 4100K and individual tablespaces for anything above Medium.

BTW, you have the extent sizes reversed from new to old paper. The new one specifies 160K and 5120K (which avoids the 5 block rounding problem).

There are a couple of differences between the two papers:

The recommended extents sizes have changed from 160K, 5120K and 160M to 128K, 4K and 128M respectively.
And "Oracle7 will round all extent sizes to multiple of five blocks" has been taken out of the revised paper.

On the second point i have seen this statement several times in various documentation but haven't found this to be true.

Any thoughts??
