Incidentally, that's almost how Cisco's certification exams work: they give you a pile of kit and say, "right, you have to build a network and pass a packet of data from one end of the room to the other". When you've done that, they send you out of the room, and one of their own engineers introduces bugs into your network. In part 2 of the exam, you have to find them and fix them.
