No, you're not missing anything. ;-) This list will be slower than what
you're used to on telelists. The reason for that is that we batch up the
sending and receiving of list traffic to better aggregate the load. The
benefit is a bit better workload for our server and a "breathing space" in
between messages which might get looped, thus keeping your mailbox from
filling up if there were problems. The downside is that the response isn't
immediate.
Depending on when you hit our pickup times, your response could be as quick as 10 minutes, and as long as an hour or so. Of course, there are always other network connections in between, and those have an impact, but that's another story.
As to your second question, sending a copy of the message to the original author is the *default* behavior for the list, so yes, you should see your messages.
