I need to see a very simple and practial example of sending a message from one Pc to another Pc on a network within Oracle/Forms

We need more information!! Does the receiving application have to be Oracle Forms? If so, what happens if the user hasn't pressed enter in their application for the last 2 hours?

Do you want to send an email? Or an SMS?

Is it a 'message' or do you want the application to look at a table every 30 seconds and see if there is a message?

Dear Friend,

I simply want to send a message from one Pc to another and yes both pc will have Oracle.

Actually I am using Windows Xp and Windows has NET SEND utility for sending message on the network from one Pc to another but I dont want to use windows utility b/c the message service is by default is set to shutdown by windows.

So I want to do this through Oracle.

I need a procedure/function or oracle utility that allow to send online users messages on the network.

Repeat:

what happens if the user hasn't pressed enter in their application for the last 2 hours?

Have you considered looking at a table, by userid, and displaying any message that has not been marked 'displayed'?

Actually I dont want to use a table b/c is I dont that I have to put a code in each form to check that table from time to time and I dont want this.

What I m looking for is like the utility of Windows NET SEND message.

The NET SEND utility allow us to send message to any Pc on the network.

As I send a message it will be received by another pc. I can use this utility in my form useing HOST command but this will involve windows and I dont want to involve windows.

Actually I have a FORM which will be used by the database administrator. In this form I want to build this machinism that the admin can send message to any or all online users of the database on the database.

If you don't want code in your forms and you don't want to use a Windows facility then <sarcasm>other than write the message on a piece of paper and leave on their desk</sarcasm> I have no idea.
