Hi,
Can anyone help?

I work with a team of Oracle developers, and occasionally, after making a change to a form, and checking code back into Source Safe, some triggers are being dropped. This could happen to areas of the form that has not been amended, mainly affecting WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED triggers, and tends to happen to fairly large forms with many Data Blocks and Program Units.

Has any one had similar experience? Any tips on preventing this from happening will be appreciated.

Thanks.

What version of Forms are you using? What operating system? Which source control software?

Hello David,

I'm using Forms 9i on Windows 2000, and source control software is Microsoft Visual Studio Sourcesafe.

Do you 'check in' the 'fmb' file or some other component of the form? Does 'Sourcesafe' store the form as a single 'lump' ro does it 'decompose' the form?

Are you sure that you did not have the form open in the form builder when you checked it 'back in'?

Review the 'exact' size of the form when you have finished building it, when you check it in (is there an internal 'property' sheet that can be viewed in 'Sourcesafe'?) and then again when you check it 'out'.

Review the size of a form before opening in Forms Builder, open the form, do a Ctrl-Shft-K, save and then close the form. Has its size changed?

Is there enough space on the hard-drive? What are the 'space limits' for 'Sourcesafe' objects?

The file is checked in as a .fmb file, and is stored as a single component.

The form was not open in form builder when checked back in to sourcsafe, however, it may have happened when multiple forms were opened in Forms Builder at the same time when the form was compiled. I would have to try recreating the problem again.

I reviewed the form size before opening in Forms Builder,
Ctrl-Shft-K, saved and closed the form, and the size is the same.

There seems to be enough space.

What version of SourceSafe are you using?

Have a look at http://www.highprogrammer.com/alan/windev/sourcesafe.html
