We have a selection in my area between Oracle 9i and MySQL (version 4.1) for our databases that are used as back end for Web Applications built with Cold Fusion and JSP/Servlets.
I am trying to find the advantages of using Oracle (my preference) over MySQL. Please advise how Oracle is better than MySQL.

Price is not an issue and I have many instances available for me to use.
My Web applications dont use alot of tables per application and they dont have alot of heavy processing in the database but I like Oracle Client and working with triggers, sequences and the availability of PL/SQL.
I was hoping I can convince other people I work with to use Oracle over MySQL. Everyone likes MySQL (we have older version - 4.1) because it has autonumbering, easier to use and no privilege issues.

Thanks, I saw many opinions from the Google results saying: "mysql and oracle. It depends what you're using it for
It seems it will come down to the actual requirements (and price) and what I am using it for which is the same situation I had when comparing my use of Java or Cold Fusion.
