hi

I need to know how to delete the index stats.

I need to drop the index and delete the index stats too.

Please help.

If you drop an index, its stats are also dropped.
You can also use DBMS_STATS.DELETE_INDEX_STATS procedure.

you can also try
analyze index <indexname> delete statistics;

whn i execute this pacakage DBMS_STATS.DELETE_INDEX_STATS ( XE1_TMP_RPT_GROUP)

I am receiving the following error.

Begin
DBMS_STATS.DELETE_INDEX_STATS ( XE1_TMP_RPT_GROUP)
Error at line 1
ORA-06550: line 2, column 51:
PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "end-of-file" when expecting one of the following:

:= . ( % ;

Please help

i have dropped the index. so it didnt work...

i want to drop the index and delete statistics too.

Copy and paste what you do, don't describe it.

Also read the documentation about the procedure, what is the meaning and type of the first parameter? Is there any other mandatory parameter?
