Hey!

When trying to insert an object to an OCX control (object = acrobate reader browser), and then trying to close the layout editor then re-opening it, the object disappears. Nornmally, this loss of the object occurs also at the runtime, so im obliged to re-insert it manually (right-click --> insert object) during the runtime.

Any ideas or suggestions ?

Note that some other classes work normally, and do not disappear, but that does not solve my problem.
The class I use for the PDF is : "AcroPDF.PDF.1".

Thanks.

What version of operating system, forms, and database are you using? Is this in development or production?

This is in developement.
Platform : Win Xp
Forms : 6.0.8.21
Database : 9.2.0.1.0

Note that im not saving the file in the database , but its path , and then I load the file from this path, so I don't think it's a matter of database.
And again, some other objects(other than PDF) work normally . . .

Probably not. OCX is not supported in versions higher than 6i therefore most people haven't used it.

I suggest using a different method for PDF files.

Search this forum for 'PDF' but with either 'host' or 'client_host' or 'web.show_document' as an extra keyword.

Problem solved!

The Acrobat Reader 7.0 is not compatible with forms 6i, I tried to use an older version of Arobat Reader (5), and it worked normally.
But to use a newest version of acrobat reader, I have inserted a "Microsoft Web Browser" which can read PDF files, and also worked normally.
