Hi All,
Below is the exerption from Order Management Implementation Guide(115ontig)14-28
"The cycle count action in the Shipping Transactions form provides a mechanism for you to split the line, one line representing the actual shippable quantity and another line representing the quantity that is backordered. At the same time the reservation is transferred to cycle count so the inventory will not be available at the next pick release process"
Is there any one who can elaborate this? My understanding is that
-The backordered quantity will go to cycle count, which is a subinventory(?) to hold the discrepancy quantity to check
-The on-hand quantity will be adjusted according to backordered cycle count
-Given this case, sales order can be backordered in 3 instances. Instance 1 is at pick release whereby there is no sufficient on hand qty. Instance 2 is at ship confirm whereby due to whatever reason the qty to ship is less than to be ordered. Instance 3 is at backorder to cycle counting due to stock taking errors.
Any comment or clarification is welcome
Thanks
Hong
